Virginia Values Veterans – V3 Program
American Corporate Partners’ (ACP) Mentorship program is part of the V3 and is dedicated to assisting veterans who are transitioning service members, and active-duty military spouses, with their career development.
They do this by creating opportunities for mentoring and networking with professionals from some of the nation's finest corporations and select universities. More importantly, ACP provides veterans with opportunities to leverage their military skills and experiences in civilian careers.
I had the opportunity to partner with Michelle Petrantoni to mentor her in her move from the Army to a civilian career. Michelle has 20+ years with the Army as a Master Sergeant and she worked in a senior leadership role.
Michelle and I started this journey in May of 2024 and we have a good battle rhythm of meeting every 3 weeks. Since we began, Michelle has developed several resumes that fit nicely into her goal of a strategic leadership role, and she is narrowing her career choices as we speak. I think the most exciting thing for me is that Michelle has gotten into Duke University and will be attending their executive MBA program.
I have put Michelle in touch with some of my good friends who have also been great assets for assisting in her career choices. I can’t wait to see where she ends up!
